Tobacconist heroine fights armed robberSixty-nine year old Monsalud Cabrera didn't think twice when faced with an armed robber in her Malaga shop on Tuesday. She defended herself with the first thing she had to hand: rolls of gift wrap. The tobacconist, who was behind the counter with her assistant at the time, started hitting out at the gun with the paper shouting "That's not real". A shot was fired, shattering the glass at the front of the counter, but by then, the robber had been sufficiently intimidated and left the premises empty-handed. "Divine intervention" was Monsalud's explanation for her instinctive reaction.
